Be An Open-Ended Learner

Learning… something I really didn’t make the most of in school days yet I  Learning2value it so much in adulthood. Being an open-ended learner is all about continuing to grow and develop your mind, skills and interests. Why stagnate?

Having completed 2 courses this month I decided to take some time to reflect on the skills I have developed over the past 9 years in business. I feel blessed to have grown so much and to have realised the importance of remaining open to learning.

No sooner do you think you ‘understand’ something another concept or perception comes to light, allowing you to look at things differently; even if your opinions and perceptions remain the same (and there is no reason they should change just because you have learnt another point of view) you get a wider view of the world.

I love this quote about learning from Henry Ford:

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.”

Learning1I’m not so sure the mirror would agree but mentally I do!

How frequently do you challenge yourself to learn something new? Is it important in your life or do you feel you’ve done all the learning you care to?

I will certainly continue to be an open-ended learner, loving each and every opportunity to grow…

Live Blissfully!
